Bart Castleberry
Fire Chief

Information

Appointed to the position of Fire Chief in August 1993, Bart Castleberry oversees the operations of the Conway Fire Department. A member of the fire department since February 24, 1981, Chief Castleberry has brought a lot to the modernization of this department. Some of those modernizations include the hiring of numerous personnel, new apparatus, and several new stations, as well as implementing fire department response to medical emergencies to provide basic life support before the arrival of the ambulance.

Chief Castleberry's wife of 25 plus years is Melissa Daniel Castleberry. Their three sons are Sam, Tyler, and Zack. Chief Castleberry is a 1976 graduate of Conway High School. He holds a Degree in Fire Science and is working on a Bachelor of Science Degree from Arkansas Tech University.

Chief Castleberry believes strongly in community involvement and is actively committed to it. His own community involvement both past and present include serving as a Board Member for the Boys and Girls Club of Conway, and as a Committee Member for Toad Suck Daze; successfully completing the Faulkner County Leadership Institute (1991 Graduate); and serving as a Board Member for the Arkansas Juvenile Advisory Board. Examples of community involvement more directly related to his job as chief include assisting with the Beebe Tornado cleanup, Faulkner County Crisis Response Team, Local Emergency Planning Committee, National Organization for Victims Assistance (NOVA), and the New York City World Trade Center Disaster.

Chief Castleberry strives to constantly improve the Conway Fire Department to keep the citizens of Conway and those who protect it as safe as possible.
