TRAFFIC
ENGINEER
The City of Conway is accepting resumes for a Traffic Engineer working
within the City of Conway Street and Engineering Department. The
Traffic Engineer will provide traffic engineering services for the City
of Conway including the review of traffic flow and formulation of
recommendations needed for safe efficient traffic movement.
Requirements are:
- Ability
to conduct traffic studies, review and make recommendations in regard
to traffic control.
- Ability
to prepare detail construction plans for traffic signals, street,
intersection, drainage and other public works projects.
- Ability
to prepare and present both written and oral presentations of
engineering projects and proposals.
- Assist
in the development of city budget for traffic management and street
issues.
- Experience
in preparation of traffic signal plans and street improvement plans
utilizing computer aided drafting and engineering design programs.
- Ability
to compute quantities and prepare construction estimates for
engineering projects.
- Review
of site, subdivision and construction plans for conformance to city
requirements.
- Must
have a valid Arkansas driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability
to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the
general public, co-workers and elected officials.
- Graduate
of pending graduate of an ABET approved engineering school with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or
closely related field.
- Registered
Professional Engineer or be qualified to take the exam in the near
future. Registration as a professional engineer will be required
as a condition of continued employment.

BUILDING
INSPECTOR
The City of Conway Planning and Development Department is accepting
applications for a Building Inspector position. This position is
responsible for inspection of new construction and remodeling projects
for compliance with the City of Conway’s construction related building
codes and ordinances. Requirements are:
- Knowledge and
experience in the construction field required. Associates Degree
or two (2) years of post secondary college or technical school in
building technology, construction, management, mechanical, electrical,
plumbing or building construction, or five (5) years experience in
construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have and
maintain a valid AR drivers license; maintain a clean driving record.
- Must have or
obtain within one year from the date of hire the following
certifications:
- Certification
as a Licensed HVACR Inspector by the Arkansas Department of Health
- Certification
as a Licensed Plumbing Inspector by the Arkansas Department of Health
- Certification
as a Building Inspector by the International Code Council
- Strong verbal
and written communication skills with the ability to define problems,
establish facts, formulate conclusions and present feasible solutions.
- Must have
experience with Microsoft Office Programs including but not limited to
MS Word, MS Excel.
- Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general
public, co-workers and elected officials.
Salary range
for the Building Inspector position is $32,112 - $42,433 per year.

GROUNDS
SUPERVISOR II
The City of Conway is accepting resumes for a Grounds Supervisor II,
reporting to the Parks Development Manager. The Grounds
Supervisor II directs and coordinates all activities to maintain and
repair physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds for the
City of Conway Parks and Recreation Department. Requirements are:
- High School
diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a
building/grounds maintenance position.
- Strong verbal
and written communication skills.
- Ability to
define problems, establish facts, formulate conclusions and present
feasible solutions.
- Ability
to plan, implement and coordinate maintenance and repair to buildings
and grounds.
- Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general
public, co-workers and elected officials.
- Ability to
direct workers engaged in painting and performing structural repairs to
masonry, woodwork and furnishings of buildings.
- Ability to
direct workers engaged in ground maintenance activities including
mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking and disposing of
leaves and refuse.
- Ability to
direct workers engaged in custodial duties at various parks and
recreation facilities.
- Ability to
direct workers engaged in support and set up activities for special
events.
- Analyze and
resolve building and grounds maintenance issues, prepare cost estimates
for assigned tasks, requisition tools, equipment and supplies.
- Ensure
employees achieve work goals; follow City policies and safety
procedures.

least 18 years of age.
- Must have a
valid AR Driver’s License.
- Must be able
to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be
willing to work in adverse physical environment (inclement weather.)
Salary is

programs may be considered).
- Must be
